Aswin, I’m curious if you’d recommend learning Java over PHP – right now I’m debating which to learn. Our blog is on WordPress so siding the PHP but not sure what Java would enable me to do..

Java is better than python when it comes in building GUIs, using thread programming, you have lot of inbuilt library support, but a writing and understanding codes would be tedious. And lacks in speed too.

Python would be easy to understand and execute. But a minute error can cause huge damage.
Python would help you gain knowledge and Java would help you gain social status and a higher resume value

I am learning C# and also interested in Java, is it OK if i learn both the languages ?

Actually am also in the same dilemma as yours. Am also learning JAVA and some other languages web development languages parallely. At times knowledge on one language would help learn the other easily but at other times am getting muddled up with some concepts. Just prioritize your need and learn them accordingly. I don’t feel it that difficult to cope up.
Thanks Ashwin . I think first I should be perfect in C# and then try out other language. Learning 2 Languages simultaneous will lead to confusion.
